Reorganizing Your Bathroom

February 26, 2013We started in the kitchen, and then moved on to the bathroom, and this week we are going to share some of our favorite tips for reorganizing your closets and bedrooms.
Closets and bedrooms are among the more private spaces in our homes, spaces that fewer people use and as such, reorganization requires a different approach. Your bedroom needs to suit fewer people, compared to a kitchen or bathroom that the whole family might use, and so you can truly personalize it to your own needs and wants.
Reorganizing Your Bedroom
-Have a goal in mind: What is the end point of your bedroom reorganization? A television-free retreat where you can relax, or a place where you can escape to watch your favorite shows in peace? To television, or not to television—that is the question.
-The closet is a good starting point: Once your clothes, shoes, and accessories are organized and put away, it can be easier to visualize the rest of your space.
-Use your stuff to your advantage: Cool scarves can be rolled and stored in an open tray that serves as organization, and decoration. Hang a pegboard to display jewelry, which keeps necklaces untangled and earrings paired up, while also dressing up the wall space.
Reorganizing Your Closet
-Everyone says it, but not everyone does it—go through and donate or discard anything you no longer wear or use. Make space to properly store the things you do use, and things you will purchase in the future.
-Organize your clothes in a way that makes sense to you, whether that means by color, by item type (skirts, pants, shirts, etc.), or by season.
