Kitchen Remodeling Decisions
March 26, 2014Kid-Friendly Kitchen Conversions
April 9, 2014With summer on the way, it’s time to get organized! If you start now, you can have your summer activities schedule in ink before MemorialDay Weekend. Stay tuned to the blog this month for lots of ideas on how to keep the kids excited and occupied until school starts back up again in late August.
One of our favorite places to look for creative ideas is Pinterest. That’s right—Cabinets and Designs is on Pinterest! This fun, creative app has been such a terrific place for us to share ideas, and gain insight and inspiration on design from you—the homeowner. We love to peruse the site for everything—from interior design, to recipes, to art. And, luckily for us, there is an entire section of Pinterest dedicated to kids!
Pinterest for Kids
Whether you need craft ideas to do with the kids, or you just want inspiration on all things kid-related, Pinterest’s kids’ section is a treasure trove of ideas that is constantly being updated by moms and dads everywhere. Fresh new ideas are being pinned every day, which means there will almost always be something to help you come up with something fun to do with the kids.
DIY & Crafts
Don’t just stick to the section labeled “Kids”—Pinterest has so much more! Check out the Pinterest DIY & Crafts section for craft ideas for all ages—and maybe find a project or two for yourself to do around the house while the kids are occupied.
Outdoors
Another cool section for kids and families is the Pinterest Outdoors board. Get ideas for camping, fishing, and hiking adventures—everything from campfire recipes to performance gear reviews, and even a few survival tips are included.
Pinterest “Pairings”
If visiting one of Houston’s many incredible museums is on your summer to-do list (and it should be!) we recommend a visit to complimentary Pinterest pages!
- Pair a trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science with Science & Nature fun on Pinterest.
- If the kids are excited about art, you have many museum choices here in Houston—Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Menil Collection, to name a few. Check out Pinterest’s Art section to foster a love for art.
- If a visit to the Houston Center of Photography is on the schedule, check out the photography on Pinterest!
In the meantime, enjoy our beautiful spring weather—and the rest of the school year! And don’t forget to check back during the month of April for more great summertime inspiration!
