August 8, 2012Your new kitchen is finished—now what? All those beautiful, gleaming surfaces; the glowing hardwood cabinets; your shiny new countertops—they are begging you for a celebration! Showing off your newly renovated home is your right, after all of that hard work. In fact, show it off more than once:
Say Thanks
Consider throwing a small celebration for the workers before the end of the project. Just a few refreshments and a few kind words to thank the men and women who worked so hard to make your dream home a reality will be much appreciated.
Share It
Take to your Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest pages to share the photos with friends and family. If you can, tag the companies and individuals who helped along the way. Don’t forget to share the photos—before and after—with the designer/design company, contractor, and installers who helped.
New Décor
Outfit your new room with all-new accents. Small touches of color, texture, and pattern can make a big difference. Brighten up a kitchen with new curtains, a bathroom with new hand towels, or a bedroom with a new bedspread or duvet cover. Donate gently used items to a thrift or consignment shop, making sure the items donated are clean and in good working condition.
Party Time
A newly remodeled house is a great excuse to throw a party. Invite friends and family over to see the finished product. If you were particularly happy with your designer (or architect, contractor, or installers) invite them to celebrate with you and/or have their business cards on hand to give to guests—don’t forget to ask them to use your name for any referral program benefits that might be available to you for future projects.
After the renovation ends, you can sit back and enjoy your new room (or rooms!). What better way to begin than with a party? For more great entertaining ideas, we love Martha Stewart’s website for the latest in food, home décor, and lifestyle tips.
