We can probably predict that ‘high-tech’ homes will be a growing trend every year going forward, and 2018 is no exception. Appliances are getting smarter and smarter, and we have more high-tech home solutions than ever before. At KBIS, we took note of some of our favorite high-tech solutions to share with you.
Thermador Touch-Open Refrigerator
“Look ma, no handles!”
Thermador has created a “hidden” refrigerator, with a touch-open system that eliminates the need for a traditional refrigerator door handle. The all-new, custom-panel refrigerators and freezers (which also come in stainless steel) are customizable for your unique needs. Cool features include:
Gaggenau Vacuum-Seal Drawer
One of the major standouts of KBIS 2018 was the Gaggenau Vacuum-Seal Drawer. Part-appliance, part-storage, this drawer can sous-vide, as well as marinate and serve as extended storage. Occupying the same space as a warming drawer, the Gaggenau Vacuum-Seal Drawer allows quick sealing for fish, meat, and produce.
Ilve Induction Cooktop
Italian appliance maker Ilve made a splash at KBIS, including making the list of “30 Most Innovative Products 2018.” We couldn’t take our eyes off their bright blue-enameled cooktop—and not just because of the bright color! This induction-cooktop range from the “Majestic II” series is the only 40” induction range on the market, and strikes a gorgeous balance of retro and modern.
