Even though it’s been more than a year since Hurricane Harvey, Houston homeowners continue to feel the effects of that historic flooding event. It is for those homeowners that that BuildAid was created. BuildAid is a partnership between HomeAid Houston and the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA). BuildAid provides full home repair services to homeowners affected by Hurricane Harvey flooding and who have met the pre-qualification requirements, who are then matched with an experienced home builder from GHBA. The scope of services varies, but often includes the following cost categories:
- Millwork & Trim
- Door Hardware
- Kitchen/Bathroom Tile
- Pre/Post-construction Inspections
- Final Clean
About Houston HomeAid
Houston HomeAid is a 501(c)(3) charity of the GHBA, whose mission is to identify long-term, stable homeless care providers who need additional capacity; HomeAid pairs these providers with GHBA builders, vendors, and suppliers, who donate time, materials, and labor, to help build transitional homeless shelters. At-risk populations served by Houston HomeAid include veterans, individuals and families suffering from addiction, and victims of domestic violence, among others.
GHBA is a trade organization dedicated to the development, homebuilding, and remodeling industry in 11 Texas counties: Harris, Montgomery, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Waller, Liberty, Wharton, Galveston, Matagorda, Austin, and Colorado counties. Chartered in 1941, GHBA is the fourth-largest builders association in the country and the largest in Texas.
