Children’s Museum of Houston
The Children’s Museum of Houston is closed on Thanksgiving Day, but there are lots of holiday events during the week, including:
- Wednesday, November 22: Elves on a Shelf performance and Thanksgiving with Santa
- Friday, November 24: Winter Wonderland week begins
- Saturday, November 25: Unicorn Utopia
Skate with Santa at Discovery Green
Head into downtown Houston on Saturday, November 25, to attend Skate with Santa at Discovery Green at 5 p.m. Tickets are $14 per person, which includes tax and the price of skate rental. Don’t forget the camera!
H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade
The H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade begins Thursday, November 17, at 9 a.m. in downtown Houston. Free to all, this 68-year annual tradition began in 1949 when Santa arrived at Union Station and rode his sleigh downtown to Foley’s. General seating is available for purchase.
Celtic Christmas Weekend at Texas Renaissance Festival
The Texas Renaissance Festival wraps up with their annual Celtic Christmas Weekend, November 24-26. Enjoy holiday costume and pie-eating contests, gift shopping in the shoppes of New Market, and holiday music and lights with the whole family.
A Christmas Carol at Alley Theatre
A Christmas Carol returns to the Alley Theatre on Friday, November 24. Get your tickets now for this Dickens classic, which runs through December 30!
