Industry News: Wood-Mode Spring 2015

Wow, what a year we’ve had already here at Cabinets & Designs! From KBIS in January to GHBA Rally Day earlier this month, we’ve just now realized—it’s almost April! And we have an awful lot of exciting industry news to share with you from our friends at Wood-Mode Cabinetry.

Last month Wood-Mode announced the grand opening of their Lifestyle Design Center in LuxeHome at Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Not only are all Wood-Mode dealers welcome to stop in and enjoy the Design Center, but homeowners, designers, architects, builders, and trade professionals—everyone can check in at Suite 119 to take advantage of, and experience:

• Wood-Mode’s latest product releases, as well as lifestyle design themes to suit everyone—traditional, transitional, contemporary for kitchen, bath, and more;
• A prominent entry display featuring Oceanside and Embassy Row, two of Wood-Mode’s recent design themes;
• A central, strategic location for professionals and homeowners who want to see the very best and latest in custom cabinetry for the kitchen, and the whole home.

Last year, Cabinets & Designs President Maria Frank had the opportunity to attend Wood-Mode Factory Training School in Kreamer, PA, where she took part in a five day “immersion” course. It was then that she was able to see the manufacturing process up-close. Afterwards, she wrote:

“Most surprising to me was seeing that even though it’s a ‘factory’ there is a large ‘people component’—it’s assembled by hand, finished by hand, and inspected by quality control before it is released for packaging and shipping. This method is employed for both Wood-Mode and Brookhaven cabinetry.”

In other Wood-Mode news, Cabinets & Designs is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the 2014 Master Award. Wood-Mode’s most prestigious award, the Master Award is only offered to the top twenty five dealers with the highest combined sales in the U.S. In 2014, Cabinets & Designs ranked 19th in Wood-Mode and Brookhaven sales, and we’re honored to receive the Master Award once again.
