November 26, 2013C&D Designer Rick Beckham Visits Canyon Creek Cabinetry
December 10, 2013Are you in the holiday spirit yet? Whether you are gift shopping or party hopping, we hope you have a lot of fun planned over the next few weeks. We are so lucky to live in Houston, a city that knows how to make the holidays extra festive! If you are entertaining out-of-town guests, or if you need to keep the kids entertained during the extended school break, we recommend checking out some of the fun festivities going on during December and January.
The Heights Holiday Home Tour
One of our favorite annual events, the Heights Holiday Home Tour is this weekend—December 5-7. We can’t think of a better way to get into the holiday spirit than spending an evening (or three!) looking at Christmas lights.
Merry Grinchmas! The Art of Dr. Seuss at Children’s Museum of Houston
Merry Grinchmas! The Art of Dr. Seuss is at the Children’s Museum of Houston now through February 23. Kids and parents alike will enjoy this “whimsical adventure” through the life of Theodor Geisel—better known to us as our beloved Dr. Seuss.
The Santaland Diaries at Alley Theatre
This one is for the grown-ups! The Santaland Diaries is a modern cult classic, based on an essay by writer David Sedaris, in which he relays his experiences as a worker in Macy’s Santaland display. The Alley Theatre production has become so popular here in Houston, that they added the show to the 2014 schedule at the last minute because so many ticketholders called in to request it!
Ice at the Galleria
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a little bit of cold and ice! Visit the Galleria to see their amazing Christmas tree, and to take a turn around the ice yourself. This is a really fun activity for out-of-towners, and the kids, plus you have all the shopping and food the Galleria has to offer; a perfect family-fun day.
Don’t forget to stop in and see us at Cabinets & Designs while you are in the Galleria area doing your holiday shopping!
