October 15, 2013Thinking About Thanksgiving
October 29, 2013Halloween is over a week away, but the Halloween fun has already started here in Houston. Whether you are looking for a haunted house, or a spooky selection of sweet treats, we have compiled a list of helpful Halloween tips just for you.
Haunted Houses
If your Halloween isn’t complete until you’ve been scared silly, a haunted house is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween. Here are some haunted houses around Houston:
-
Houston Scream Fest: A bit scary, and maybe not for the little kids, this haunted house boasts a zombie paintball shoot! Located on Elton Street, admission is $29.95 per person but they have a 2-for-1 Thursday night special, so you can scare yourself for half-off!
-
Houston Terror Dome: Not recommended for kids under 12, this haunted house is located on the East Freeway outside Beltway 8. Tickets are $20 each, or you can purchase VIP tickets for $30 each, which is good for no wait times and unlimited entry on the day of purchase.
-
Zoo Boo: This annual, family-friendly event at the Houston Zoo is perfect for the little ones. All Zoo Boo activities are included in the price of your zoo admission. The last days to celebrate Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo are Friday, October 25 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) and Saturday and Sunday, October 26 & 27 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.). The kids can wear their costumes!
Sweet Treats
Do you need some fabulous Halloween cookies, but don’t know where you’ll find the time to bake between now and the 31st? Try one of these bakeries:
-
Paulie’s Restaurant: The cookies at Paulie’s are so delicious, you may end up hiding them from the trick-or-treaters! You can complete an order form online.
-
Ohh La La Sweets: They can make cookies for the kids, but they are advertising a dark chocolate and orange cupcake that looks perfect for an adult Halloween party dessert table!
-
Three Brothers Bakery: With two convenient locations (Memorial and Braeswood), Three Brothers can whip up cookies, cupcakes, or a Halloween-themed cake that you can swing by and pick up on your way to the party.
Everyone here at Cabinets & Designs wishes you and your family a safe and spooky Halloween!
