Greater Houston Builders’ Association Garage Sale Success

Earlier this summer we shared some information with you on our blog, about the Greater Houston Builders’ Association (GHBA). Cabinets & Designs’ President Maria Frank was elected to the GHBA Remodelers’ Council as the Education Committee Chairperson. In this role, Maria promotes the GHBA/NAHB education programs as she works alongside GHBA’s Director of Education.

“I’m proud to work with the GHBA Remodeler’s Council and all of its members,” said Maria. “I love how involved they are in their community, and the many volunteer projects they take part in. It’s not just a few people doing everything; everyone gets involved and I believe that speaks highly of the Council and all of its members”.

In addition to her work on the Education Committee, Maria also sits on the Garage Sale committee. Each year the GHBA holds a garage sale, and the proceeds are used to fund the Remodelers’ Council annual charity projects with non-profit organizations. The 2013 GHBA Garage Sale was held on September 21st & 22nd at Reliant Center, and we are pleased to announce that it was a success! The official amount raised for 2013 is $30,034.63—that’s up from about $18,000 in 2012! Thanks to everyone who made the Garage Sale such a smashing success; we had over thirty remodelers and thirty associate members who participated, while fifty companies donated goods to sell. The annual garage sale takes a lot of manpower, and a great deal of organization, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped!
