More Than a Kitchen with Wood-Mode Cabinetry
October 7, 2015To Consider: Custom Freestanding Cabinetry
October 21, 2015It’s that time of year again! The 2015 AIA Houston Home Tour is almost here, and we don’t want you to miss it. Showcasing some of the finest residential architecture in the city, the AIA Home Tour gives the public a rare opportunity to see some of Houston’s most beautiful homes. Designed by licensed architects, all nine homes on this year’s tour are sure to inspire you. Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, and order your tickets today.
The self-guided tour starts at noon and ends at 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday; tickets are $25 per person, and are good for both days of the tour. Riding your bike? Cyclists can purchase tickets at a discount—just $20 each. If you’re short on time you can visit a single house and pay a one-time fee of $10, however the single house tickets are not available for pre-sale. Full-tour and single house tickets can be purchased at any of the participating houses on the tour, and are good for both Saturday and Sunday.
More than three thousand people enjoy the AIA Houston Home Tour per year, and proceeds from the annual non-profit fundraiser help support various AIA initiatives throughout the year. As in years past, the tour also offers volunteer opportunities: volunteer for three hours as a docent and earn a free Home Tour ticket, plus an invitation to the exclusive Appreciation Party.
As an added bonus, Houstonia Magazine recently published a sneak peek of the nine homes—take a quick photo tour and vote for your favorite for a chance to win two tickets to the home tour and a mid-century modern chair from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams valued at over $2,700. Houstonia is also offering AIA Home Tour attendees a special subscription discount: get Houstonia delivered every month for a year for just $12. (That’s an 80 percent discount on the cover price!)
