June 20, 2018The 2018 GHBA Best of PRISM Awards will be held Saturday, October 6, in the beautiful Legends Ballroom at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. This annual award ceremony is one of our favorites, as we celebrate the outstanding work done by our colleagues in the Houston homebuilding industry.
Prizes in five categories are awarded at the annual Best of PRISM Awards: Associates, Custom Home Builders, Volume Builders, Remodeler, and Developer. GHBA volunteers will drive and escort a panel of visiting judges around Houston to see nominated projects, including Cabinets & Designs’ president Maria Frank. Although the days are long, it’s a volunteer activity Maria looks forward to each year.
“I picked up my route and schedule yesterday—twelve stops in all,” said Frank. “This is the largest, and only, event in the country that does on-site judging. Judges fly in from all over the country at their own expense and take three or four days out of their own schedule to participate. I start out in Houston near Memorial Park, then to Memorial, Missouri City, two stops in Sugar Land, then Katy, two stops in Cypress, Pinehurst, Montgomery, Conroe, two more in Humble, then one final stop in Houston—you’re required to make all stops before returning to the hotel, so we’ll see a lot.”
Once judging is complete nominees will have to wait until the October 6, 2018, gala at the Royal Sonesta, when winners will be announced. For ticket prices, sponsorship opportunities, and more information about the 2018 Best of PRISM awards, visit the GHBA website.
