Remodeling: A New Kitchen by New Year’s Eve

  • This is the time of year when people start thinking, “Boy, it would be great to have a brand new kitchen to entertain in during the holidays!” If you start now, you may have the finished product in time to show it off at a New Year’s Eve or Super Bowl party!

We like clients to think about their remodeling timeline as lasting about nineteen weeks, starting with the planning phase through the finishing touches. Depending on how far along in the planning process you may already be, and how extensive a remodel you want, it may be cutting it close for New Year’s, but the Super Bowl is still within your reach!

The early planning stages—both conferring with your spouse and family, and with a kitchen designer—take up the better part of the first month of the 19-week renovation process. If your goal is to have your remodeling project done sooner than later, we urge you to stop in to Cabinets & Designs showroom and speak with one of our experienced designers to get started on this important phase of the remodeling project.

Now, we know you want your new room(s) to be ready ASAP, but we cannot sacrifice quality for the sake of throwing a big party, can we? In order to maximize the efficiency of your project, here are a few suggestions to help move the project along so that you can have it all—a beautiful, functional, well-constructed room to entertain friends and family!

Bring measurements of your room(s) when you meet with the designer: Having measurements will allow a designer to quickly and efficiently sort what’s possible from what is not possible, given the parameters of the space.

Bring your favorite design inspirations to show the designer: Understanding your tastes will help your designer tailor the aesthetics of a room, instead of wasting time on colors, patterns, and styles that don’t suit you.

Good prep work saves time: Ready the room(s) set for remodeling by removing sensitive electronic equipment, cleaning out drawers, cupboards, and cabinets, and any other tasks you can think of that will save the work crew time once they are ready to start demolition.

Are you inspired to get moving on your new remodeling project? Stop in and see us at Cabinets & Designs to get started today!
