AIA Sandcastle Weekend 2018 (new date)

One of our favorite events of the year is back with a new date: AIA Sand Castle Weekend will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Traditionally held the first weekend in June, AIA Sand Castle Weekend has moved to August this year, but the fun you remember remains the same. Teams of castle builders will converge on Galveston’s East Beach to compete for the Golden Bucket Award—and ultimate bragging rights.

GHBA Charity Day

On April 28, 2018, volunteers from the GHBA Remodelers Council gathered at Wellsprings Village in southwest Houston for the annual RMC Charity Work Day. Wellsprings Village is a nonprofit organization offering aid to homeless and abused women in Houston—transitional housing, plus support services such as food, clothing, transportation, job education, and more.

Greater Houston Business Association Remodelers Council Charity Work Day

Cabinets & Designs President Maria Frank is an active member of the Greater Houston Business Association, and a member of the Remodelers Council, a committee dedicated to promoting excellence and professionalism within GHBA as well as public awareness of the Remodelers Council. The annual Remodelers Council Charity Project Work Day aims to serve both and is coming up on April 28, 2018. All RMC members look forward to this annual day of hard work, fun, and community outreach. This year’s event will benefit Wellsprings Village, Inc., a transitional residence program which offers long-term transitional housing and supportive services for homeless and abused women in Houston.

GHBA Rally Day 2017: Wednesday, February 22

The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) is the largest home builders association in Texas, and the third-largest nationwide. GHBA members are involved in all aspects of the development, homebuilding, and remodeling industry, including advocacy. In a few weeks, GHBA members—including Cabinets & Designs’ president Maria Frank—will head to Austin to visit with state legislators and weigh in on legislation affecting homebuilders across the state at Rally Day 2017.
