Buying the perfect bathroom cabinets

  • Your bathroom is never complete without a bathroom cabinet, no matter how good the quality of your plumbing and furniture is. A properly designed bathroom cabinet will let you keep your toiletries organized, and will considerably improve the overall look and feel of your bathroom. Choosing the proper cabinet for your bathroom is important. Here are some quick pointers on how you can get great quality custom cabinetry for your bathroom.

    1. Know your Bathroom – Many homeowners ignore this step, but in order to be a smart shopper, you have to know your bathroom. Take measurements of your bathroom, and note those down. Have an idea about the exact dimensions that you want the cabinets to have. A clear idea here will save you a lot of time and money later on.
    2. Look for Quality – Purchasing custom cabinetry is an investment that will help increase the value of your home, so do go for durability and high quality in craftsmanship. Take into consideration Houston’s unique environmental conditions. The humidity coupled with the extreme heat is brutal to cabinetry, so an intensive lumber drying process that achieves the optimum moisture content required for the necessary stability of your custom cabinetry. This is especially important in the bathroom where humidity is the highest, after those steamy showers! Ask for cabinets made of high quality wood for extra durability. Maple and oak are among the best varieties of wood for this purpose. In addition to these wood species, decorative maple veneers are available as inserts.
    3. Go Green – Make sure your cabinetry maintains a firm commitment to a clean environment.  Many other cabinet manufacturers have no emission control at all.  Say no to toxic fumes. All finishes should be applied at the factory, never in your home.
    4. Look for Extra Space Inside – Bathroom cabinets will have to hold a lot of items, including toiletries, and personal grooming products. So, make sure that there are plenty of shelves and compartments inside. Special storage features provide you the utmost in storage functionality and efficiency.

Be sure you are offered a wide and flexible range of design and budget options that make it easy to give you the look you want for your home. Try to avoid stock cabinets if you can help it, because these cabinets are made according to preset specifications, and usually cannot be customized further. With custom bathroom cabinets, you are the boss. You get to choose the dimensions, building material, and finish. Besides, when you buy custom made bathroom cabinets, you will get a guarantee of quality, and can get your cabinet repaired for free within that guarantee period, should any problems occur.

So, don’t wait. Go for a custom made bathroom cabinet, and breathe new life in your old bathroom at home.

Review by Mr.B for Rating: Not Deluxe at all. Poor Quality and a real pain to asbmesle. The unit could have been shipped as two separate assemblies which then could have been very easily connected together as opposed to trying to deal with all the small pieces. The quality would have been controlled better as well. The instructions are very poor. The quality was at a WalMart level which should not be the case at this price. The bottom door had the top edge ground off and it looks horrible when asbmesled. Now I have to try and get another door from a manufacturer on the other side of the world. The Pottery Barn has much better quality and you can go to a local store if you have a issue. I would not buy a again.
